Why “vom Kalten Brunnen“?

 The Kalte Brunnen (cold well) is a spring not far from my parents' house. It’s in the middle of a remote forest where in the 19^th century, the robber and murderer Franz Matzeder lived.

During World War II, it was used as a place for people to hide as well as a source of clean water for them.

Today if you go down the stairs to this most historic place, there is an extraordinary atmosphere that leaves you with goosebumps.
